ALL ABOARD!! THE EXPRESS TRAIN IS TAKING OFF!
Here is what you can expect to get for the 2025 season…
At Fennell Brothers Baseball, we provide each athlete with the most complete product in a safe/ fun environment for learning and respecting the sport, all in the process of growing and developing. Our goal as an organization is to make sure we provide young athletes with an opportunity to play the game as long as THEY want to. First and foremost, that comes with having fun! At the end of the day this is a game, and if your son can have fun while learning discipline, respect, controlling emotions, being a good teammate, and being coachable, then our end goal is achieved. Preparing these young men for life while getting really good at baseball...
We believe in the sport of baseball, individualization is as unique as any other sport. In 2017, we witnessed Aaron Judge who’s 6’7 280 come in 2nd in an MVP race to Jose Altuve 5’6 (more like 5’4) 165. Both are phenomenal players, but are so different in their own way and they understand that. Altuve isn’t going to train to hit 50 HR a year and he knows that. He knows what he needs to do, to be his best self and that is something young athletes do not realize. They want to be the big home run hitter, or the hard pitcher bringing gas, but it may not be in the cards yet for that individual. The earlier they can realize how to maximize the player that they are while building correct mechanics is what is going to set the structure to build the athlete for the long term.
That is why in our organization, we customize our programs to help the individual learn his own strengths and weaknesses and then access, and attack as a unit. The best way our athletes are going to be able to grow is if mom, dad, coach, strength trainer, and most importantly the player himself are all on the same page of what that individual needs to work on to maximize progress throughout the season.
How we individualize our offseason programs
All indoor instruction will take place at our Zelienople or Wildwood indoor facility located at
141 Zehner School Rd. Unit 300 Zelienople, PA
2342 Wildwood Rd Allison Park, PA 15101
Fall Rapsodo Hitting Program:
The Express Fall hitting program will start in October and run for a total of 8 weeks. This program is customized for each athlete individually to help the hitter understand his swing and make adjustments accordingly preparing for the next season. This is the time of year where we aren’t worried about being game ready to step into the batters box. We want to assess and attack areas that need improvement. It is important for all hitters to understand how we can maximize efficiency and understand what needs to be done in preparation heading into the next season.
Each player will get their metrics tested week 1 on our Rapsodo. The Rapsodo machine will test, average exit velocity, max exit velocity, RPM spin, average launch angle, and distance of the ball. We will provide a detailed video analysis to show a break down of the swing compared to MLB hitters. Your son will be able to visually see how a swing is supposed to work and what may be going right or wrong. On week 8, each player will get their Rapsodo numbers tested again. This will help transition into the new year, ramping up for the season ahead.
Winter Arm Care:
A six week program is put in place to help each athlete build up arm strength and prepare for the season. There will be two 30 minute sessions every week. This is something where many athletes are different and will be individualized depending on age, natural arm strength, current mechanics, official start time of season, etc. The program will give instant feedback and help guide your son on how to condition and take care of his body and arm starting in the winter, transitioning to spring, carrying to summer, and finishing in the fall. Arm Care is a full year, never ending process if your son is serious about baseball.
Online Courses:
Fennell Brothers Express will be providing each athlete with baseball online courses. Online courses will begin once indoor practice starts up in January. One of the biggest issues in development of youth athletes is falling behind in understanding the fundamentals of their respected sport. These courses will focus on what we will touch base on in our team practices starting in the winter, transitioning to Spring and concluding in Summer. We will focus on the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding, team defensive alignment, bunt defenses, pickoffs, and more. We want to be able to maximize the efficiency of practice and hit the ground running as soon as the new year kicks off. This is where the online courses will give each athlete a basis of what we will be going over which will fast track the learning curve for each and every athlete in the program.
Interactive Classroom sessions:
Our 5 week interactive classroom sessions will begin in December - January at either Wildwood or Zelienople facility. Each class sessions will be 30 min with live on turf walk through sessions. Our goal is to go over as much as possible with understanding not only hitting approach and pitching approach but infield fundamentals, outfield fundamentals, defense alignment, bunt defenses, etc. These sessions are built to be able to help athletes learn and understand the game from the classroom then put what we learn into live action to help understand specific areas of the game before team practices kick off.
Larkins Sports Performance Programing:
Each player will receive 4 months of unlimited training with Larkins Sports Performance November - February. Our goal is to train and condition our athletes to understand their strengths, weaknesses, and correct form in preparation for the season. The offseason is the time to get faster and stronger to take those next steps as a player matures in the sport of baseball.
